Mathematics
At Streeton Primary School, we are committed to developing confident and capable mathematicians through evidence-based teaching practices. Our mathematics program uses Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) and high-quality, research-informed programs to provide students with a structured and sequenced approach to learning.
Lessons include clear explanations, teacher modelling, guided practice and independent application, ensuring students build strong mathematical knowledge and understanding. Learning intentions and success criteria are made explicit, helping students understand what they are learning and how to achieve success.
Students develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills across all areas of mathematics while building confidence through consistent lesson routines and regular review of previously learned concepts.
Our approach equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed in mathematics and apply their learning to everyday life.
