Rewards & Consequences

Rewards

At Streeton, we use ClassDojo as a positive rewards system to recognise and celebrate students who demonstrate our school values. Students earn Dojo Points when they show these values in action – for example, including others in a game, persisting with a challenging task, or showing kindness to a classmate. Student can then cash in their points for rewards or activities within the school.

Points are always given with specific and timely feedback, so students know exactly what behaviour is being acknowledged. For instance: “I love the way you included others in your game – you’ve earned a Community Champ Dojo!”

This approach helps reinforce positive behaviours, builds confidence, and encourages students to live out our school values every day.

Consequences

At Streeton, we understand that children are still learning how to manage their choices and interactions with others. When mistakes happen, our focus is not on punishment, but on re-teaching and supporting students to learn the appropriate behaviours for next time.

Our consequences are fair, consistent and designed to help students reflect, repair and grow. We take the opportunity to guide children back to our school values, build their skills for positive behaviour, and strengthen the relationships that keep them connected to school.

Through this approach, we aim to help every child feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Below you can see our Behaviour Consequences Flowchart. This outlines the process that staff follow when re-teaching student behaviour.
