Reflection Room

At Streeton, we believe that when students make mistakes, it’s an opportunity for learning and growth. Our Reflection Room is part of our approach to supporting students in making better behaviour choices.

When a student displays inappropriate behaviour, they spend 20 minutes (half of lunchtime) in the Reflection Room with a teacher. During this time, they complete a Reflection Sheet (see below) which encourages them to think about their actions, consider the impact on others, and plan for more positive choices in the future.

A Compass Chronicle is also completed, which automatically emails parents to let them know their child has spent time in the Reflection Room. The Chronicle encourages families to have a conversation with their child about what happened, helping to strengthen our home–school partnership in supporting positive behaviour.

This process ensures that consequences are fair, consistent, and focused on re-teaching appropriate behaviours so that every student can learn and thrive.
