TALKING BOOKS….
The talking book was born when students created an imaginative story about themselves. The story had to be short and have them as the focal point, either as a super hero or something, one day they would like to become. The students learnt all the skills required to put together the books in Microsoft PowerPoint including; the layout, inserting coloured backgrounds, text, illustrations using AutoShapes scribble, grouping pictures and finally voice recordings using the microphones!
Phew, what capable kids they are!! So now look, listen and read all of their hard work....

mLearning PDA launch July 18th 2006
On the evening of July 18th the 5 schools that are part of our project celebrated our PDA and m-learning launch. The Minister for Educational Services, Jacinta Allan, and Minister for Children's Services, Sheryl Garbutt, attended the evening. It was a real chance for us to show off what we have been doing here at Streeton and at the other schools.
The activity for the evening is called an e-Byte and they have been designed to use with our handhelds and computers together. The topic was PIRATES!! You can click on the link here for your e-byte instructions.
The evening was a great success with excellent questions being asked and wonderful feedback. The students were experts for their parents, showing off their skills and teaching them a thing or two about the PDA!!!
